The Maytags' second full-length album, Meriweather, is an ambitious reach into new sonic territory for the group. I wanted the album art to reflect the bright, energetic sounds in store for listeners—to be swelling with the sheer volume of new ideas.
While aiming to stand out in a crowded market, it was also important to the band that this art feel at home next to the group's previous release (Love Lines). And then of course the clear yellow vinyl pressing adds some premium funkiness. That's important.
